Pro CONS) is committed to providing directions on handling harassment and bullying in the workplace. This policy was developed to comply with Section 21 of the O H & S Act 2004.
The following types of behaviour, where repeated or occurring as part of a pattern of behaviour, could be considered bullying:
1. Verbal abuse
2. Excluding or isolating employees
3. Psychological harassment
4. Intimidation
5. Assigning meaningless tasks unrelated to the job
6. Giving employees impossible assignments
7. Deliberately changing work rosters to inconvenience particular employees; and
8. Deliberately withholding information that is vital for effective work performance.
The list is not exhaustive. Other types of behaviour may also constitute bullying.
When any employee experiences harassment and/or bullying in the workplace there are formal procedures which must be followed and these are explained in the Harassment and Bullying Management Procedure, available to all personnel at the head office (and all worksites).
The Managing Director/CEO must report the incident to WorkSafe Victoria as required by law so all employees are expected to fully co-operate with this policy. There will be no prejudice for employee participation in this process and your privacy and confidentiality will be maintained.
The Policy is reviewed annually as part of the Internal Audit program, or whenever legislative change is identified, to ensure that our workplaces remain harmonious and free of any harassment or bullying.
